I am currently the Director of Research & Strategy for Product Ethics and Inclusion at Salesforce.

My research focuses on the design of tools to support human efforts, dignity, and autonomy in the workplace, including the responsible use of AI, the trustworthy use of marketing technology, and the human-centric implementation of customer service tooling, the ethics of emerging technology, and the accessibility of all Salesforce products.

I also lead internal enablement for ethical and inclusive research practices and I’m a member of Salesforce's Advisory Council for the Ethical and Humane Use of Technology where I advise on ethical use policies.

I wrote A User Researcher’s Guide to Getting Started with Ethics-by-Design, 4 Principles for Responsible Marketing, 4 Research-based Principles for Preventing Service Agent Burnout, and co-wrote Salesforce's Responsible Creation of AI learning module.

I hold a Master's degree from UC Berkeley's School of Information, where I worked on projects ranging from large-scale quantitative research on user perceptions of algorithmic moderation in online communities, to increasing transparency and community participation in decisions about the use of surveillance technology in Oakland. I took this pledge of ethics with my classmates.

Previously I worked as a Salesforce Administrator and Solution Architect for Room to Read, an International Development Non-Profit that works to increase access to education, improve literacy, and decrease global gender inequality by helping girls attend and stay in school. At Room to Read I conducted user experience research with our staff in the field to design, develop, and implement solutions that supported them to be more effective and enabled the organization to have a greater impact.

I remain optimistic about the potential to use technology to support human efforts to work towards justice and equity in our communities.
